Y2K Trivia Night to include grand prize

Are you ready to take a trip down memory lane? With baggy pants and biker shorts now fully back in fashion, Student Activities is hosting a Y2K Trivia Night. The event will take place in the LaHaye Event Space at 9 p.m. on Feb. 3.

It might be time to break out the Avril Lavigne and Linkin Park albums because the questions will center around the pop culture influences of the 2000s, such as popular TV shows, movies, fashion and music.

Winners will receive gift card prizes that match the Y2K theme. A grand prize will go to the team that scores the most points throughout the night.

“I’m especially excited for students to participate in this event because it’s all about a time that many of us have very fond memories of,” Student Activities Event Supervisor Jordan Hassler said. “We’ll together get to look back on toys, games and movies from our childhoods that maybe we forgot about and put some context to many of the prevalent trends we see resurfacing in our culture.”

With a maximum of six members to a team, spots are limited. Hassler encouraged students to show up early to get a spot.

“The Trivia Nights are always a great chance for students to come and show off some of their knowledge on topics that they are passionate about,” Hassler said. “We want to continually come up with themes that are relevant to Liberty’s students.”

More events planned by Student Activities for this semester include a Jordy Searcy concert Feb. 10, a Beach Chapel concert Feb. 25 and Coffeehouse on March 25.
