Malik Willis Becomes First Flame To Win Dudley Award

Liberty University quarterback Malik Willis won the 2021 Dudley Award Saturday April 24. The Dudley Award is for the best college football player in the state of Virginia. 

The award is usually given out soon after the football season ends, but it was delayed due to the FCS season moving to
the spring.

The other finalists for this year’s award were VMI quarterback Reece Udinski and Virginia Tech running back Khalil Herbert. Willis edged Khalil Herbert in a 6-4 vote by the award’s selection panel. 

Prior to Saturday’s ceremony, no Liberty Flame had ever won the award.
