Men’s and women’s cross-country come in second in ASUN championship race

The Liberty men’s and women’s cross-country teams celebrated second-place finishes at the ASUN cross-country championship meet Saturday.

The Flames saw three top-five finishers with redshirt sophomore Felix Kandie coming in second in the men’s 8K race and freshman Adelyn Ackley and sophomore Callie Parlier making a 1-2 finish in the women’s 5K.

Ackley set a program record 5K time of 17:08.7 and was named ASUN Runner of the Year. Her time was also the fifth-fastest in ASUN championship history.

Liberty also saw eight Lady Flames and two Flames break personal bests, with Brittany Carnathan and Priscillah Kiplagat cutting more than a minute off of their times.
