The banquet was held in the Grand Lobby of DeMoss Hall and was catered by Sodexo. ALD member Casey Gordon provided live music.

The theme for the evening was Chocolate Decadence, and the aroma of chocolate filled the Grand Lobby thanks to a chocolate fountain that flowed throughout the event. The evening began with a welcome from the ALD Chapter President Amanda Kieffer, followed by an opening prayer from Michael Romero, the internal communication officer. After the welcome and prayer, members began eating a meal from Sodexo catering while enjoying time to relax, talk and laugh among friends.

Mark Hine, senior vice president for Student Affairs, addressed the students about loving others and finishing strong with their college careers and all they commit to in life.

“Give attention to God,” Dr. Hine said. “Love God. Love others. A long time ago, I decided it’s a whole lot easier to love people than it is to hate and fight and carry on. So I committed to God and said, ‘Let me love my friends and family, especially let me love my enemies.’ Love God with all your heart, your mind, your soul and your strength, and love your neighbor like yourself.”

The banquet continued with an introduction of ALD officers, followed by the awarding of honors and certificates to seniors.
