This year’s event took place at Camp Hydaway after being held at the Equestrian Center for the last couple years. Those who attended the festival were greeted with numerous outdoor activities, including zip-lining, canoeing and games. A long table was covered in all sorts of fall-themed treats including cookies, caramel apples and cider.

Throughout the day, students had opportunities to paint pumpkins, mix their own scent diffusers and tie-dye Frisbees, all free of charge.

“What other place could you paint a pumpkin, watch someone smash their face in a pie, make s’mores and perfume, and do it all for free with your friends?” Anna Weeks, a Liberty sophomore, said.

Multiple competitions took place throughout the day. Contests included a sack race, pumpkin painting contest and pumpkin pie-eating contest.
According to Karlyn Move, event supervisor for SA, approximately 700 people attended the festival. SA usually provides around 400 pumpkins for the event, all of which are gone long before the day’s end.

The festival was well received by students, who appreciated the friendly atmosphere and the various activities provided. Weeks described the event as something that all students should consider going to, and already knows she will be back next year.
