Parking update

In response to complaints from students and faculty regarding alleged parking problems on campus, the Liberty University administration issued a campus-wide survey to commuters.

The survey gave the students the option of buying a parking permit for a particular spot in one of the campus’ parking lots.

However, according to an announcement by the Liberty University Police Department (LUPD), “The results of the commuter survey on parking revealed that 87 percent of students want to leave the current system of parking in a zone in place.”

“As a result of this student feedback and in anticipation of upcoming campus construction projects, Liberty University will be implementing the following changes,” the LUPD announcement stated.

The changes, which will not become effective until the spring semester of 2012, require particular students to immediately re-register their vehicles if they fall into a certain category. Some of the categories include “Hill residents of any classification” and “Underclassman required to park at Doc’s Diner at East Campus,” according to the announcement.

For a more comprehensive list of changes, incentives and instructions for registering vehicles for the spring semester, refer to the LUPD announcement on the splash page or visit the website.
