Why I became a Group Exercise Instructor: My love of exercise all began in high school when I walked into a Body Pump class for the very first time. From that moment on, I absolutely loved going to group exercise classes. It was so much more fun and fulfilling to me than exercising by myself. I loved it so much that I pursued becoming an instructor myself. I knew that becoming an instructor would give me the chance to be an influence in the lives of so many people—both physically and spiritually. In a society where an unhealthy lifestyle is the norm, I want to show people there is a better way to live, and I truly believe that a healthy and active lifestyle improves one’s quality of life. My job allows me to inspire others and help them achieve just that. Being a group exercise instructor is such a rewarding job that I would not trade for the world.

At the end of high school, I was diagnosed with a health condition that urged me to start a fitness journey. I ended up completely changing my lifestyle and developing a passion for all things fitness and nutrition. Over the past few years, it has become more and more clear to me how faith and fitness align. The endurance I used in my workouts became a metaphor for endurance in my life as a Christian. At our weakest moments—He is strong. When we think we can’t handle what life throws at us—He equips us. When it seems too challenging—He gives us endurance and an unshakeable hope.
