Markus DeasClass: Senior
Hometown: Fredonia, NY
Markus Deas grew up in the small town of Fredonia, just southwest of Buffalo, New York, and began playing hockey at the age of seven years old. From Timbits minor hockey all the way through high school, Markus played for a team called the Fredonia Steelers under the program NCCYHA (Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association). Markus played for bantam AAA travel and high school varsity hockey for the Fredonia Steelers winning numerous tournaments across the east coast and Canada, as well as multiple state championship appearances. Upon graduation from Fredonia High School in 2010, Markus continued to play hockey for Fredonia's U-18 team where he was named captain for the 2010-2011 season. In 2012 Markus joined the Liberty University Men's DIII hockey team for his freshmen year and has been on the team ever since. Graduating with a degree in Aeronautics from Liberty Universtiy, Markus has decided to further his education by pursuing a Masters in Business Administration while continuing to fly. At the beginning of the 2015-2016 season, Markus was named captain for the Men's DIII hockey team. Upon graduation, he wishes to pursue a career in the airline industry as a pilot.
