Match-up Preview: Flames Face-off Against Lebanon Valley
February 15, 2012 | Lynchburg, VA
Matchup: The #5 Liberty Flames (20-7-5) will host the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen (8-13-4) this Saturday at 7:30.
All-Time Series: This is the first ever matchup between the Flames and the Dutchmen.
Liberty Scouting Report: The Flames will look to rebound off two disappointing losses to #2 Delaware last weekend. Brent Boschman far and away leads the team in points with 58 (23 goals and 35 assists), and thanks two scoring two goals last weekend, he has put himself 4th place in the entire ACHA in goals. Despite not scoring last weekend, Rick Turner still ranks 3rd in the ACHA in goals with 29. The Flames benefited from the return of Luke Baumgarten last week who had missed the last couple months due to injury. Liberty, however, lost their leading shot blocker, Christian Garland, in the second game against Delaware, which will leave a huge void in the Flames' penalty killing game. Blair Bennett played both games in net last weekend and posted 73 saves while allowing 10 goals. However, his save percentage is an impressive 91%.
Lebanon Valley Scouting Report: The Dutchmen are led up front by junior forward, Matthew Kindsay who has 21 goals and 9 assists. The Flames also need to be on the lookout for Wes Landsem and Kyle Stewardson who both have 18 points on the season. Lebanon Valley has a strong defense corps headlined by junior, Cole Bell who has 7 goals and 22 assists. Daniel Ramirez has logged the most time in net for the Dutchmen, posing a 2.92 GAA and a solid 89% save percentage.
