Liberty University's ACHA Division II women's hockey team stretched its winning streak to four games by dominating visiting West Chester in back-to-back games over the weekend at the LaHaye Ice Center.

The Lady Flames (6-2) netted seven goals in the first period before adding five in the second and three in the third in Saturday night's 15-1 opening rout of West Chester before completing the sweep with an 11-2 triumph.

Liberty outshot the Golden Rams (4-7) by a 51-22 count on Saturday with senior goalie Faith Gerber making 21 saves. Senior defensesman Ashley Wright, junior forward Kira Rice, and freshman forward Brittany Hegele recorded hat tricks with Hegele adding three assists. Junior defenseman Grace LaPorte scored the first goal, assisted by junior forward Lauren Pillisch, and assisted three more, including two by Wright and the game's final goal, freshman forward Alexis Early's second. Pillisch and also scored twice and senior forward Kjrstin Hoberg added a goal off an assist from Early.

In Sunday's rematch, Liberty held a 41-17 shot advantage and scored eight second-period goals to break a 1-0 game wide open before both the Lady Flames and Golden Rams tallied twice in the final 20 minutes. Gerber made 15 saves in her second win over the weekend.

Hegele added another hat trick for Liberty, this time contributing four assists, and Pillisch, Rice, and Wright each netted two goals with Hoberg and sophomore defenseman Victoria Morris rounding out the Lady Flames' scoring.

Liberty, rated sixth out of 10 teams in the first ACHA Division I rankings, is off until Jan. 26-28, when it travels to play one game at third-ranked Navy and two at West Chester (Pa.).
