Keepers of the Flame: DII women's hockey's Liz Leach
June 14, 2016 | Lynchburg, Va.

On this week's segment of "Keepers of the Flame," Liz Leach, a graduate defenseman on Liberty University's ACHA Division II women's hockey team, explains why Hosea 2:14 — "Therefore, I will alert her and bring her into the wilderness that I may speak tenderly to her" — is her favorite Bible verse.
Leach, who is from Anchorage, Alaska, said the passage refers to the nation of Israel, which has rebelled against God.
"The Lord says ‘I'm going to forgive you and I'm going to restore you,'" she said. "There's no chastisement, there's no punishment, there's just love and forgiveness. He not only restores that woman, but He brings her back and purifies her and makes her whole again. I just think it's such an incredible vision of what the Lord does for us on a daily basis and what He does in our lives."
