Matt Cruickshank is entering his second year as assistant coach for Liberty Men’s Div. II Team after a successful but incomplete 2019/20 season with Nationals being cancelled. Prior to coaching, Cruickshank played for Liberty from 2016-2019 where during his freshmen campaign was chosen for the ESCHL All-Rookie Team and All-Defensive Team. Cruickshank’s junior hockey career was played back home in Canada split between the GOJHL and CCHL leagues. During Cruickshank’s 3 year span in the CCHL (2012-2015), he was blessed with the opportunity to represent Team Canada East in the 2013/14 World JrA Challenge while also being selected as a two time All-Star and captain in representing the CCHL in the Central Canada Cup. Cruickshank completed his junior career with the Kitchener Dutchmen of the GOJHL where he was selected for the Second Team All-Star and First Team All-Defense. 

 

Cruickshank graduated Liberty with an Undergraduate degree in Psychology and is now entering his final year of his Masters in Industrial & Organizational Psychology. Cruickshank is also engaged to his amazing fiancé Sarah with their wedding date in May 2021.
