Entering his first season with the Flames, Matt Allen hopes to help lead Liberty to back to back NCWA National Championship. The Roxboro, North Carolina native was solid wrestler at Person High School, where he was a state qualifier at heavy weight his junior year and was a team captain senior year. Allen represent team North Carolina at East Coast Duals during his high school career. Allen spent his last four year at University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he wrestles for the brave wrestling club for 4 years. He was wrestling club president for 2 years. His sophomore year of undergrad is when he started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke, North Carolina, where help lead the Rams from not having any state qualifier in 15 year to finishing 3rd in the 4A state duals, winning their first conference championship in school history, and taking seven wrestler to the NCHSAA wrestling state tournament in his last year of coaching. During his 4 year at UNCP Matt studied exercise/sports science and will pursuing his master degree in exercise science with a focus on strength and conditioning to help him to become a better coach and preparing himself to help lead the next generation to follow Christ.
