Addictions Counseling Presentation

Addictions Counseling Manual

The M.A. in Addiction Counseling program is specifically intended to prepare graduates for work in the addiction field. Therefore, the internship is focused on developing competence in addiction-related counseling activities. This means that your internship’s site supervisor, activities, and site must provide you with the opportunity to obtain the necessary supervised clinical experience. The table below provides examples (not an exhaustive list) that can help guide your search for a supervisor, site, and activities that will contribute to your preparation for work in the addiction field. Read the Counseling Internship (ADCN 699) Site and Supervisor Requirements chart that outlines exactly what is acceptable.
