Dr. Adams served as the Texas Counseling Association President (2008-2011) and is an active member of several other professional counseling organizations. She has been awarded various honors by several universities and selected as “Hero of the Year” for Denton County Medical Reserve Corp for her 10-years of volunteer crisis work.
Dr. Adams is an editorial reviewer for a national peer-reviewed journal, as well as the writer of numerous articles and book chapters. She has frequent professional presentations for local, state, national, and international audiences.
Dr. Adams has a limited private practice specializing in grief and bereavement, crisis and trauma, adults and couples and past survivors of abuse. She has a strong presence in the field of grief, crisis and mentoring students and new professionals. Dr. Adams’ research interests include grief and bereavement, crisis and trauma, adults and couples and past survivors of abuse.
