Biography

Dr. Melissa Ostrander currently serves as a core faculty member for the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University. Clinically, she and her husband, Dr. Chris Ostrander, own and counsel within their private practice solely through telehealth, serving clients in both North Carolina and Florida. Dr. Melissa Ostrander specializes in anxiety, postpartum issues, and couples counseling, utilizing attachment informed cognitive behavioral therapy. She is also active in advocacy efforts in the counseling field and serves as the 2020-2023 Treasurer for the Florida Counseling Association Foundation. Currently, her research interests include social anxiety and sexual shame, gatekeeping in counselor education, integration of spirituality in counseling, and postpartum issues.
