Biography:
I am in my seventeenth year as a counselor educator. In those positions I coordinated school counseling programs and served as the clinical director of two on-campus counseling centers. My greatest passion as a counselor educator is mentoring students during their internship experience. In addition, I worked as a school counselor for 12 years, primarily at the secondary level. During those years, I received several state awards for my work and my school’s comprehensive school counseling program. My research focuses on role and identity of professional school counselors and counseling “tweens” and teens. I was a founding member, trustee and president with the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling. Other professional memberships include American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Texas Counseling Association, Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Texas School Counselor Association.
