Practicum

Prerequisites: To be adequately prepared for this course, the student must have completed COUN 715, 730, 740 and 745 with a B or above and passed the Qualifying Exam (COUN 969) to be approved. Students must also be in good standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above with the university. 

Prerequisite courses and Qualifying Exam are non-negotiable and must be completed prior to the start of the internship.

***Students must be registered in Pre-Approved Practicum class in order to submit practicum paperwork.

Purpose: The practicum provides an introductory experience (3 credits/one term) in which students practice leadership roles and skills in the field of counseling including: counselor education, supervision, and advanced clinical skills. Students should be pointed to the Ph.D. Practicum and Internship Manual for detailed information.
