BA or BS in Theatre Arts

Prepare for a wide range of theatre-based careers with a BA or BS in Theatre from Liberty University. Through these generalist degrees, you’ll receive practical instruction in the theory and practice of theatre performance and production.

Our purpose is to help you develop into a skilled and professional theatrical artist so that you may glorify Christ in the practice of your craft and the testimony of your life.

Through the BA in Theatre, you’ll have the opportunity to explore new languages and confidently pursue further education such as the MFA after graduation. And with the BS in Theatre Arts, you’ll have more theatre electives, giving you the opportunity to focus on the courses and topics that interest you most.

Academic Auditions/Production Interviews

All declared BA/BS students on the 2018-19 or later DCP are required to complete a Production Interview, with the option of an audition.

BA/BS Theatre Majors

All BA/BS Theatre Majors will be required to provide the following, should they choose to complete an Academic Audition:

  • 16 bars of music
    • Sheet music must be properly marked with start and stop points and in the correct key
    • Sheet music must be presented in a 3-ring binder
    • More detailed guidelines for each audition will be announced separately and are subject to change
  • 30-second monologue
    • More detailed guidelines for each audition will be announced separately and are subject to change

Current BA students with a concentration in Performance, Production, Arts Administration, Teacher Licensure or Dramaturgy:

  • Must audition and interview if they have not passed the Sophomore Hearing.
  • Must audition or interview according to their concentration if they have passed the Sophomore Hearing.
