What is You Matter?

Since Liberty's inception, the university's mission has always been for its faculty and staff to be used by God to change students' lives. You Matter is a new, university-wide initiative to provide faculty and staff with the resources needed to carry out this mission.

When students, parents or any potential customer visit campus residentially or online, we have the great privilege to serve them. As a faculty or staff member, you are the face of the university that the community sees every day. A great reminder of the reason why we do what we do is available in the Journey of Champions documentary. As employees, stories like these should remind us of the significance of our positions. Helping students find their calling and overcome obstacles is a privilege and the primary reason we come to work each day. You can also be a positive influence to your co-workers in your office or department at Liberty. "Your job doesn't change lives. You do." While you can simply complete everything your job entails, you're also a part of something much larger here at Liberty University.

  • Download a computer background as well as a background for your IP university phone, to serve as reminders of You Matter.

As part of fulfilling the mission of Liberty University, it is crucial every employee know the background of Liberty. For both new employees that are not familiar with Liberty's humble beginnings or veterans that need a refresher on the details, read the Story of Liberty Mountain.

We encourage your department to celebrate the Liberty story on a regular basis (yearly, for example).

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
