Although Liberty students keep busy with classwork and study, there are lots of options right here on campus when it comes time to unwind. You’ll find our students enjoying a variety of campus recreation activities, special events, and even intramural sports like basketball, disc golf, and racquetball. And find out what’s going on at the LaHaye Ice Center, who’s working out at the LaHaye Recreation and Fitness Center or having fun skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre.

Campus Recreation

Recreational activities like canoeing, paintball, and horseback riding keep Liberty students moving and offer just the right kind of study break. Our 35 Club Sports teams also provide excitement for our student-athletes and fans.

Student-centered facilities include our 3-D Archery Range, Hydaway Outdoor Recreation Center, Equestrian Center, and Disc Golf Course.

Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life

Opportunities for spiritual growth give students a chance to develop their faith while gaining a world-class education. On campus, Liberty students attend Convocation, North America’s largest weekly gathering of Christian students. Nationally known speakers address the student body on current issues and spiritual development. Students can also participate in Christian service, campus church, and Bible study.

And in the classroom, students learn from Christian faculty who not only invest in their academic performance but also genuinely care for their spiritual growth.

Student Activities

Liberty students can make new friends and connect with existing ones at over 100 scheduled events provided throughout the school year.

A large selection of concerts, movie nights, trail races, trips such as hiking, fishing, kayaking, and major events like Coffeehouse and Block Party are all free for students or offered at a significant discount.

Code of Conduct

The Liberty community is made up of individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences who are dedicated to obtaining a superior education in a way that honors our Christian faith. Central to preserving this community is the personal commitment students have to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the highest ideals of moral virtue and professionalism.

The student code of conduct, known as the Liberty Way, guides students to behave morally and dress modestly.

Known for Safety

Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) officers have full law enforcement powers and responsibilities and provide 24/7 patrol protection of the campus, parking lots, residence halls and other properties controlled by the university.

Easy Mobility

Liberty operates a comprehensive transportation system, designed to make the campus and the surrounding community accessible through an efficient intracampus transit system, access to the Lynchburg city bus system, and airport/train and bus station services during major campus breaks.

Sidewalks also provide campus-wide access, and our Wards Road pedestrian tunnel connects students to local restaurants and shopping.
