Although Liberty students keep busy with classwork and study, there are lots of options right here on campus when it comes time to unwind. You’ll find our students enjoying a variety of campus recreation activities, special events, and even intramural sports like basketball, disc golf, and racquetball. And find out what’s going on at the LaHaye Ice Center, who’s working out at the LaHaye Recreation and Fitness Center or having fun skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre.

Campus Recreation

Recreational activities like canoeing, paintball, and horseback riding keep Liberty students moving and offer just the right kind of study break. Our 35 Club Sports teams also provide excitement for our student athletes and fans.

Student-centered facilities include our 3-D Archery Range, Hydaway Outdoor Recreation Center, Equestrian Center, Disc Golf Course, and Ivy Lake.

Student Activities

Liberty students can make new friends and connect with existing ones at over 100 scheduled events provided throughout the school year.

A large selection of concerts, movie nights, trail races, trips such as hiking, fishing, kayaking, and major events like Coffeehouse and Block Party are all free for students or offered at a significant discount.

Code of Conduct

The Liberty community is made up of individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences who are dedicated to obtaining a superior education in a way that honors our Christian faith. Central to preserving this community is the personal commitment students have to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the highest ideals of moral virtue and professionalism.

The student code of conduct, known as the Liberty Way, guides students to behave morally and dress modestly.

Known for Safety

Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) officers have full law enforcement powers and responsibilities and provide 24/7 patrol protection of the campus, parking lots, residence halls and other properties controlled by the university.

Easy Mobility

Liberty operates a comprehensive transportation system, designed to make the campus and the surrounding community accessible through an efficient intracampus transit system, access to the Lynchburg city bus system, and airport/train and bus station services during major campus breaks.

Sidewalks also provide campus-wide access, and our Wards Road pedestrian tunnel connects students to local restaurants and shopping.

Student Housing

Find just the right type of residential housing that matches your style and meets your needs. At Liberty University, we’ve got many options to choose from that vary in location, size, and price.

  • East Campus
  • Residential Commons
  • South Tower
  • The Circle
  • The Hill
  • The Quad

East Campus is the premier apartment-style housing location. Each apartment contains 3 bedrooms and each bedroom can house 2 or 3 students. Unique to this style of housing, each apartment also has a washer and dryer. East Campus is near many recreational facilities including David's Place. Mailbox kiosks are located throughout East Campus Residence Halls.

Residential Commons I and II are traditional residence hall communities with two-person rooms and private baths. Centrally located, they allow students access to all areas of campus. Laundry facilities are located on each floor and Liberty Post Office boxes are available on-site.

The South Tower offers traditional housing in a high-rise facility for female students. Each room houses 2 students. It is located on the bus line, so students may access Liberty's many recreational facilities. Mailbox kiosk locations are located in the nearby Circle residence halls and laundry facilities are located in both the South Tower (female only) as well as on South Campus.

The Circle is a traditional residence hall community. Centrally located with 3-person rooms, it allows students access to all areas of campus. Mailbox kiosks are located around the Circle community and laundry facilities are located in multiple residence halls.

The Hill is a traditional residence hall community. Centrally located, the Hill is next to DeMoss Hall, the bookstore, and Reber-Thomas dining hall. Laundry facilities are located in M20 and mailbox kiosk locations are in M17.

The four residence halls that make up The Quad offer two-person rooms in apartment-style suites. Each suite has 5 bedrooms, two shared baths, a living room and kitchen area. Located near the south end of campus, the Quad is close to intramural ball fields and parking. Mailbox kiosks are located in the nearby Circle residence halls and laundry facilities are located in both the South Tower (female only) as well as on South Campus.
