Hello Everyone! My name is Emily Burke and I am the newest addition to Liberty University Marketing Department’s Student Blogging Team. I am a Business student studying Project Management, Digital Marketing & Advertising, and Graphic Design. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and that is where my family currently lives. I moved to Virginia to attend Liberty University a little over a year and a half ago and ever since then, the south is slowly starting to win over this northerner’s heart. I consider myself very lucky to be able to call both Lynchburg, Virginia and Carlisle, Pennsylvania home, it really is the best of both worlds!
I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring nature, you can also find me on the volleyball courts or hanging out with friends with a cup of coffee right in my hand. Crafting and refurbishing/DIY projects are my favorite…I am always down for a crafting night! I think that puppies are the greatest bundle of happiness and that everyone should have a sweet, sweet pup in their lives…the idea of becoming a professional puppy cuddler doesn’t sound too bad to me.
I spent this past summer interning at a donut production facility, Entenmann’s Donuts, in Carlisle PA where I saw more donuts in three months than I ever thought I would see in my life! (and yes, I did eat a few while I was there!) To say I had the experience of a lifetime is a true understatement.
My favorite part of being a student at Liberty is so much more than receiving a great education, it is the experiences and opportunities that Liberty has to offer. From the athletics to hall events, concerts, musicals, speakers, bible studies, community service, exploring downtown, and meeting all the best friends a girl could ask for I find that there are always so many fun events going on!
I am excited to share with you all what being a student at Liberty is for me and just how great of a place it is! I hope you stick around and enjoy the journey we are about to go on together. Buckle up, it’s going to be a great one!
