CFAW Weekend // Switchfoot Concert

February 28, 2014

In 11th grade I visited Liberty University for CFAW where I got to see the Newsboys and The City Harmonic live in concert. Being able to go to those concerts during CFAW gave me a good impression of Liberty because I knew that if I choose to go to school here there would always be something fun to do. For example, I attended the Switchfoot concert last Friday. It took me back to 7th and 8th grade when I was a big fan of Switchfoot’s lead singer, Jon Foreman.

My friend Michelle made sure I didn't lose my mind when Jon went on stage.

Since I listened to Switchfoot when I was younger, I am biased towards them, but Switchfoot is a seriously talented band. I had never been to one of their concerts before so I was blown away at their performance. They brought lots of energy to the stage, so when they were excited, the crowd was excited. Besides the energy, Jon sounded amazing and maybe even a little better than he sounds recorded. Even when he went out into the crowd he still sounded phenomenal. They are just so good.

Switchfoot put on a crazy light show. Check out the video below to get a glimpse of what it was like.

The Kopecky Family Band, who played right before Switchfoot, was fantastic. If you like Dogwood and Holly or Rend Collective you will enjoy their music. I personally really liked their sound because they used a lot of fun instruments like the lap steel guitar; they also used lot of cool percussion parts in their songs, which gave them a unique sound.
