The Perfect StormOctober 29, 2012
On this Monday, most of the east coast is bracing for Hurricane Sandy to hit. The weather sources are saying that this could be a catastrophe, similar to “The Perfect Storm” or one the worst storms yet. Here in Lynchburg, Chancellor Falwell canceled classes for Monday as a precaution. At the moment, all we can do is prepare for the storm to hit and it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Whenever big storms come, I can’t help but think about metaphorical storms in our own lives. I can honestly say that since coming to Liberty, God has allowed a lot of storms to occur in my life. Sometimes I handled them the right way and sometimes I didn’t. One thing I do know is how extremely thankful I was in all of these storms that I was at a Christian University. I can’t imagine going through some things without having my support system of amazing Christian girls around me. I got through these storms because of the power of Jesus Christ and those that He surrounded me with in those tough times. Remember that we have a God who promises to never leave or forsake us!! He will be with us in the storms of life and even when it’s difficult we should still praise and worship Him! We can rest assured that eventually the storm does pass and we get through the tough seasons in life! Today my prayers go out to everyone who is being affected by the hurricane and also those who have storms going on in their own lives.
