Let Go and Let GodSeptember 17, 2012
I can remember the middle of my Freshman year thinking “What do I want to do with my life!?” It seems like the first question someone asks you at college when you first meet them is: "what’s your major?" If you’re a freshman right now then you probably have the answer “I'm undeclared!”
When I first came to Liberty I was convinced that I wanted to be an International Business major. After about a month and a half God really started moving in my life and began to change the desires in my heart. He gave me a new passion to want to help people. I know that I could have done that with business, however, God just showed me how He really has equipped me to be in the field of Psychology. As soon as I switched my major and began taking Psych classes, I knew I had chosen the right major.
So here I am beginning my junior year and I have no idea what I actually want to do with my Psychology degree when I graduate! Do I want to go to graduate school? Do I want to get a job right away? Do I want to live in the States? Do I want to go back overseas? So many questions right now that I don’t have the answer to. I do have one answer though, God is in control and He knows my future. Since I know my God then I know he is going to take me to the right spot. Right now I just have to be obedient in working my hardest in school. Our campus pastor Johnnie Moore preached this past Wednesday and what really struck me was this quote by Martin Luther “ Let God be God.” It is such a simple concept that we forget daily but He, the God of the Universe, ultimately knows everything and we can take comfort in that! When we worry about our life and take it into our own hands we are ultimately saying, "God I don't trust your plan for my life." So I want to encourage you right now to remember that God is in control of your life and He is working out all the details of your life!
