Packing for CollegeJune 8, 2012
Hey everybody! As I’ve been away from school about a month, I came up with some ideas for summer blogs! This week I want to share with you a really cool way to keep track of everything you need to get ready to move into the dorms and some ideas about how to get those things. I remember when I first started getting my stuff together to come to college, I was clueless as to what all I needed. Back when I was a freshman we didn’t have a helpful little website called Pinterest. I was browsing on there the other day and came across an awesome pin linked to a website called College Packing List.
Now some of you might be wondering, why is she writing about packing when it’s only June!? One thing that I couldn’t do since I came straight from Sweden to the States is get my stuff early and so when it came time to shop, a lot of stores were picked over or very expensive. It also didn’t allow me to compare prices at different stores. The one thing that I think I did right was that my mom sent out a list of things that I needed to our family and close friends in the States. So many people had things laying around that they weren’t using that they gave to me, which helped keep the cost down for me! So I would encourage you to do the same thing and you’ll be surprised how much people have that they need to get rid of!
One other very thrifty way to save money is to go to Goodwill and get the things that you don’t want to pay a lot of money for. For example, everyone needs a few bowls, plates, cups and silverware for your dorm room. A lot of times you can find those things with the price tags still on them for next to nothing! Keep checking back on my blog and Liberty's Pinterest account for more tips on getting ready for college!
