Big SurpriseNovember 16, 2011
This past weekend, I got the surprise of my life! I was in Greensboro, North Carolina to get away for the weekend. On Saturday evening I was in my bedroom working on homework when my aunt yelled for me to come because the pizza was there. When I rounded the corner, my dad was standing there. Now, for most people this wouldn’t be that big of a surprise but my dad came all the way from Sweden! The main purpose of his trip was for meetings but he also came to be able to visit Liberty.
On Sunday after church we headed back to Liberty so that he could see where I go to school because he has never been here before. When we arrived in Lynchburg we just drove around and I showed him all of the different sights on campus. We went into the Lahaye Ice Center because I love hockey and afterwards drove up to the Snowflex because he was really curious what the slope was made of. Then we drove downtown so he could see some of my favorite hangout spots.
After showing my dad around for the afternoon, my dad took my roommates and I out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. We had a great time laughing and sharing stories from this semester. It was so nice to get a really good meal off campus. I am so thankful for the day that I got to spend with my dad and it was just the motivation I needed to get through the rest of the semester!
