Girls Night: Wings and Hockey

October 5, 2011

On Friday nights we try to not think about schoolwork and have a little fun! So this Friday night a bunch of my girl friends decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and then to a Hockey game. Usually when we go to Buffalo Wild Wings, we have to wait for a while because it is such a popular restaurant but we got right in because we came early enough. The Liberty vs. Robert Morris hockey game started at 7:30 pm and we made it there just in time.

Hockey is one of my newer favorite sports. I went to my first Hockey game at Liberty during my first semester here. I really didn’t know much about the sport other than a lot of screaming happens and that it’s a really good thing when the puck goes in the goal!! On Friday night my friend Matt, who plays on Liberty’s Division 2 Hockey team helped me understand the rules better and also explained why the players fight each other. We ended up beating Robert Morris 6-0.

Something out of the ordinary happened in between the 2nd and 3rd periods of the Game on Friday night. A guy proposed to his girlfriend on the ice! From what I could see, she was participating in the human ice bowling game and afterwards he came on the ice, got down one knee and asked her to marry him. It was a really sweet public way to ask her!
