Block Party 2011September 2, 2011
On Saturday evening a majority of Liberty students showed up at the Block Party despite Hurricane Irene’s wind and rain. A few of my friends and I went to dinner before hand at the Rot (dining hall) and then made our way over to see all the different activities they had set up. Due to the wind and rain, they set up the majority of the blow up games inside. Outside they had a few tents with different booths set up. My personal favorite was the Liberty Dining booth because if you played corn hole against someone, they gave you a free candy bar and a few coupons to different businesses around Lynchburg.
We went inside the Lahaye Student Union and watched people play the games, rock climb and the magic show! After about an hour or so we decided to head back to the dorm because we were all wet and cold. So we went to Walmart, rented a movie from Redbox and stayed warm indoors the rest of the night! We didn’t stay for much of concert but I have heard from multiple people that is was really great!
Here is a little video of what the block party was like!
