Love a FreshmanAugust 25, 2011
A dream I have had since I came to Liberty is to spray paint the school spirit rock on campus! On Monday night, my RA (Resident Assistant) and SLD (Spiritual Life Director) took our Leadership Prayer Group to Walmart and we bought spray paint and we headed for the rock. It took us a little while to figure out what to write but after we put our heads together, we knew exactly what we were going to do.
As a hall, we have a theme called "The Truth Dare" in which we find a biblical truth and then dare our hall to put it into practice in creative ways. So, we decided that we were going to dare all of Liberty's campus to "Love a Feshman." Now, you might be thinking, wow that's really lame, but we just wanted to put up a reminder that freshmen are away from home for the first time and they really do need extra love over the next week! After we finished spray painting the rock, two freshman girls came up to us and we were able to pray with them and they expressed that they really needed that! It was neat seeing our "dare" put into practice and the result of it.
So, my dare for all of you today is to love the people that might need that extra love and if you are a student at Liberty, go out of your way to "Love a Freshman!"
