Kindle Leadership Conference 2011

August 23, 2011

I arrived over a week ago to campus for the Prayer Leader training conference. This is my first time being on Student Leadership and so far it has been really neat to see that side of Liberty. For the first time this year, The Office of Student Leadership decided to hold an entire leadership conference. They brought in many different speakers from the community and we were all encouraged for the coming year, challenged in different areas of our walk with Christ, and fired up for starting our ministries.

After talking to some returning Prayer Leaders, they were telling me how the Kindle Leadership Conference was a great addition because it gave us a more solid training. We had some very long sessions but over all the speakers did a phenomenal job! Two things specifically stuck out to my leadership team:

1) Opening night Johnnie Moore (Campus Pastor) talked about how there are going to be times when we will have to say the tough things in love to some people and not sugar coat things.
2) Tim Clinton gave us some shocking statistics and really encouraged us to be there for students when they are willing to talk about their “baggage.”

I am so thankful to be a part of Student Leadership and I think that anyone on it could tell you that this year is going to be really special and we are expecting the Lord to do great things!
