College For A Weekend (CFAW) is packed with events for you to experience all Liberty has to offer!
The CFAW schedule is sampled below. While you are on campus, explore and see for yourself why Liberty is the world's most exciting university! Spend time in the LaHaye Student Union, Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre*, and view Lynchburg, Va. from the top of Liberty Mountain Trail System.
*CFAW student discount: $5 for two hours of tubing, $10 for two hours of skiing/snowboarding and equipment. Show your guest flames pass. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to sign a release form. This release form cannot be completed in advance. Government issued ID, long pants and long sleeves required.
Check-in begins at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Hancock Welcome Center. You will receive your CFAW Booklet with a finalized weekend itinerary, your housing assignment, guest flames pass, concert tickets, class schedule and other important information.
During Check-in students will have the opportunity to sign up for activities on a first come, first served basis, including:
- Horseback riding & ropes course at Master's Inn ($20)
- "Woodsball" Paintball & Ropes course at Master's Inn ($20 - $5 cash for extra paint)
- Poplar Forest (Complimentary)
- Ministry Team Auditions
Meet Your Resident Assistant
After CFAW Check-in, head to your assigned room to meet your Resident Assistant (RA). Your student host may not be in his/her room when you arrive due to normal responsibilities - class, homework and any number of requirements. When you do meet, be sure to exchange cell phone numbers and synchronize schedules as your residence hall will be locked at all times.
Getting To Know Liberty University
Shortly after your arrival on Thursday, you will want to check out the Getting to Know Liberty University expo-style event. You will have an opportunity to meet with academic departments, athletics, recreational and social clubs throughout campus.
Come meet our team and learn about spiritual life, academics, athletics and social life on campus. You don't want to miss this event!
Get to know other CFAW students and make connections that could turn into lifelong friendships. Friend Me is designed to pair you with students who have like interest.
You will get to meet other Liberty students and CFAW guests Thursday evening in your residence hall. This is required for all CFAW students so don't miss it!
At CFAW Check-In you will select a department class schedule catered to the degree area of your choice. Degree specific admissions sessions are on each schedule, make sure you attend one of these sessions to ensure that you know how to become a Liberty student!
At 10a.m. on Friday morning, attend Convocation, the largest weekly gathering of Christian young people in the nation. This is required for all students and CFAW guests.
Friday afternoon you will have an opportunity to attend an Admissions Session so you can learn about the Admissions process at Liberty. During this time, we will tell you about valuable scholarships and will waive the $40 application fee. You will also hear from faculty that can answer questions you may have about specific programs offered at Liberty.
We have designed Saturday's activities around an Admissions and Financial Aid Q & A and a Scholarship Seach session. Campus tours are available as well as one-on-one meetings with admissions counselors. Sporting events, theater productions, and other campus events are available based on the season.
We invite you to attend Thomas Road Baptist Church for their 9:15 a.m. or 11 a.m. worship services. Come early! Parking lots fill up fast!
