For the sports enthusiast, the Liberty Flames Athletics program offers year-round opportunities to express your team spirit. The Flames athletics program has been growing steadily along with the rest of the university and is now home to 20 NCAA Division I athletic teams. Students can attend all regular season NCAA athletic events for free.

Additionally, students can participate in a wide variety of Club Sports or Intramural Sports. Intramural sports focus on health and exercise, stress reduction, social interaction, and teamwork.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking and biking along the Liberty Mountain Trails. Just a few miles from campus, in Forest, VA., is Ivy Lake, another favorite recreational spot for Liberty students. The lake is a great location for fishing, canoeing, or having a picnic with friends.

Prepare to be wowed by the Liberty Theatre department! Students get significant ticket price discounts for the 6-8 plays performed each year in Liberty's 640-seat Tower Theater.

Liberty's campus also offers a number of places that are perfect for meeting up with friends or hanging out and relaxing:

  • David's Place - 2 billiard tables, foosball, 5 TVs with DirecTV, a movie theater, computer lounge and an outdoor pool.
  • LaHaye Student Union - Made up of 3 student centers, including the Thomas Indoor Soccer Center, the student union enhances the social, recreational, and fitness needs of students.
