To take an online assessment test, follow these directions.

  1. Click on the Blackboard icon
  2. Enter username and password
  3. For Math Assessment, click on “ASMA 101” (two hour time limit)
  4. For English Assessment, click on “ASEN 101”

  • If you still need to take MATH and ENGL, you will be required to take both the assessments.  However, any new UG student (Freshman or Transfer) who has transferred into Liberty a college level MATH and ENGL course is exempt from the requirement to take the assessment. If only one of MATH or ENGL is transferred, you will be required to take the assessment for the course still needed. If you need more information, or would like to clarify whether you are exempt from testing, please call one of our Admissions Counselors at 800-543-5317 (Mon.-Fri., 8am-9pm, ET; Sat., 10am-6pm, ET).
  • Allow yourself plenty of time to complete the test in a location free of distractions.  It is important that you are honest in the assessment so you are placed at the appropriate level in your math and English courses.
  • The scores will be calculated immediately, and you will be able to view which math or English course in which you should enroll. However, the scores will not be downloaded to your account for an additional 24 hours.
  • Please wait a day before you go back into ASIST to register for the course indicated at the end of your assessment. If you have waited 24 hours but are still not able to register, please send an email to and include the course in which you are attempting to enroll. We will try to correct your schedule as soon as possible.
