College For A Weekend - Parents

We encourage you to visit Liberty during College For A Weekend (CFAW) with your student so you can experience all we have to offer. You are invited to visit classes, participate in recreational activities and eat in the dining hall with your student.  Don't forget to check out our bookstore and the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre while you're visiting Liberty.  However, we cannot accommodate parents in the residence halls - instead, get discounts on local hotels as a friend of Liberty. See the Travel Page for hotel discounts, and the Visitors Center for area information.

Registration & Check-in

Parent registration is free and should be done when the student registers. When you arrive on campus, parents and students will each need to check-in. You will receive the itinerary for the weekend.  You can also purchase a meal pass for the Reber Thomas Dining Hall which will allow you to eat 5 meals for $30 or 7 meals for $42. Cash, check and credit cards are all acceptable forms of payment.

Parent Session

Convocation
We strongly encourage parents to attend Convocation on Friday at 10 am.

On Friday morning, you are invited to a Parent Session where you will hear from several departments at Liberty, including the Office of Student Leadership, the Career Center, the Student Advocate Office and the Parent & Family Connections Office. After hearing from these departments, we host a Q&A for parents to answer questions that may be on your mind.

Convocation

On Friday at 10 a.m., we encourage you to attend Convocation, the largest gathering of college-aged Christians in the world.  You will also have the opportunity to attend the Chancellor Meet and Greet directly following.  At this event, you will receive a voucher for a free lunch on Friday at the Reber-Thomas Dining Hall!

Please Note

To ensure the most comfortable Residence Hall experience, please have your student bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Current Liberty students will open their rooms to your students, but facilities do not allow for extra beds to accommodate our CFAW students during the event. Read What Do I Bring? for more tips on how to pack for CFAW.
