Cyber Defense Club
Club Mission Statement
Our club’s purpose is to promote skills and capabilities for the defense of networks and computers. The Cyber Defense Club will also enhance Liberty University’s reputation as a center of technological excellence.
What to Expect as a Member
The club meets once a week, for about an hour. Meetings are in a lecture-lab format, where an experienced club member walks through a lesson, and time is allocated for club members to work through things with their peers. Most of the material covered in meetings is introductory, if you want to learn a topic more in-depth, you can talk to an officer to get direction for how to explore it further.
Club Accomplishments
The Liberty University Cyber Defense Team, made up of club members, has placed very well in the Mid-Atlantic Cyber Defense Competition. Our team has finished 5th, 6th, and 1st for the last three years. We hope to compete in more competitions this coming school year.
We’ve started a Gitlab group where we’ll be posting updated information about the club, like meeting information and activities. Head on over to https://gitlab.com/LUCyberMonkeys and check it out!
