Friday, November 30, 2018 Let Go of Jealousy and Worry

David Pennise is twenty-two years old and from Long Island New York. He earned a B.S. in Music with a Concentration in Music Theory and Composition through Hofstra University and is currently an online student of Liberty University working towards an M.F.A. in Music Education. His dream would be to teach music at a college level and compose music for media and concert.

I have been struggling with jealousy to the point where I have become oblivious of my own success. I sought help from the Lord, and came across some inspiring scriptures.

Hebrews 13:5-6

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Psalm 37:23-24 (NIV)
The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Life is not about being the best, being the most successful, or being concerned because you think other people are getting ahead of you. Life is about faith in God, love, joy, peace, and comfort knowing that He has a plan for all of us. When choosing to put our life in his hands, He will lead us to what's best for us.

I feel that since I am sharing this publicly, I have an obligation to honor it:

From now on I will do my best to abolish jealousy and be grateful. We all have blessings which God gifts us with every day. We can control whether we rejoice in them with a gracious spirit or lose sight of them. God bless all of you and I wish you a prosperous, wonderful future. I hope that these words can be encouraging to people who might feel as though they are not measuring up, and help them to realize things are a lot better than they may think they are! For what is success without happiness? And how can one not be successful if they are happy? The goal should be happiness. Rejoicing and trusting in the Lord will provide all the success we need, because we will be content with what we have and achieve, and things will work out.
