Whether you're encountering a difficult situation, an immediate crisis, or have an ongoing mental health concern, we're available to help. Our staff includes a licensed professional counselor (LPC), Counselors, and graduate student staff. All of our Counselors hold a Master’s Degree or higher in counseling or a counseling-related field.
Your information is confidential except in the case of a life-threatening emergency or when it is otherwise required by law. Student Counseling Services operates in compliance with FERPA, and personal information is properly safeguarded and is used only for legitimate purposes and only when absolutely necessary.
Your first appointment with Student Counseling Services will be an Intake session, which includes an electronic assessment in addition to a brief face-to-face consultation with a Counselor. Following the Intake, we offer up to six sessions with a Counselor. Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes. In addition, Student Counseling Services offers referrals to outside mental health agencies.
You can schedule your intake appointment with Student Counseling Services by calling (434) 582-2651 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
