Living off-Campus

Living as a commuter student is an opportunity for personal growth and development essential to life after college. Students will be faced with new challenges that will allow them to make decisions, assume leadership, and be the image of Christ to non-student community members.

Utilize the off-campus housing site to look for more housing options, connect with potential roommates and list available apartments.

Consult the Off-Campus Living Guide for more details on commuter expectations.

Meet other commuters who, just like you, are looking for ways to build relationships with other students by attending our commuter events. Stay connected on social media and the commuter newsletter to hear about the next event!

Service Opportunities

Commuter Student Association: The CSA is a student-led organization that exists to connect with off-campus students to help them engage with each other, the University, and the local community. Commuter student leaders offer members opportunities to serve and attend fun events, engage in philanthropic activities in the local community, participate in leadership training, and connect with other off-campus students in a community environment.

Commuter Shepherds: LU Commuter Community Groups are groups led by Commuter Shepherds and designed to give commuters a similar spiritual connectivity as on-campus residential students.

CSER Team: Commuter CSER Team members are responsible for:

  • Assisting with Commuter Student Life football tailgates (in the Fall semester)
  • Participating in, setting up, and cleaning up events
  • Providing hospitality and quality guest service
  • Assisting Commuter Student Life staff in creating a warm and welcoming environment for commuter students

  • Flyers posted on walls, doors, windows, or anywhere other than Community Boards will be removed.
  • NO posters are permitted in the Vines Center.
  • Posters are approved for no more than 10 days at a time (permission for extended approval will be granted on a case-by-case basis).
