Timothy Griffin was born in Atlanta, Georgia. At the age of four, he moved with his family to Lake Charles, Louisiana where his parents served as full-time missionaries for a church plant. With the nurturing of godly parents, he accepted Christ as Savior at the age of five.
Upon graduation from high school, he attended Louisiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. He spent the next 10 years in Atlanta, Georgia, working for Cable News Network in various capacities--taking a two-year break to earn a Master’s in Media Management from Syracuse University.
In 2002, after being “downsized,” he joined the staff of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, serving as the Minister of Media, Worship, and Arts. Following his call to the ministry and subsequent ordination in 2007, he became the Assistant Pastor for Operations of the church. In 2009, he earned a Master’s of Religion in Church Ministry from Liberty University.
Griffin, also an accomplished musician, has ministered in churches across the country and has served as pianist or worship leader for several national conferences.
He is a married to Nicole, a teacher at Liberty Christian Academy. They have three sons; Timothy II, Caleb and Joshua.
