The Lodge

The Barrick-Falwell Lodge is Liberty Mountain’s scenic centerpiece, giving the LMSC the look and feel of an alpine resort. Named in honor of longtime university supporter Dr. Al Barrick and Liberty’s founder, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, this two-story building is the perfect setting for R&R — renting and relaxation.

The lower level functions as a full-service rent shop, offering a wide range of skiing, snowboarding and tubing gear. When not on the slopes, visitors can relax upstairs and enjoy Starbucks coffee and snacks at a café operated by Sodexo, Liberty’s dining services vendor. Lining the top floor walls are exquisite trophies of North American wildlife, harvested by Barrick during his 55 years of hunting expeditions. With more than 8,000 square feet of conditioned space, the Barrick-Falwell Lodge also features 2,500 square feet of exterior decking, providing a spectacular view of Liberty’s campus and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Barrick-Falwell Lodge is availible to be rented out for Birthday Parties, Events and Weddings. For more information on renting the lodge please see our Parties & Events Page.
