Letter from the Dean
Welcome to Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary!
Liberty University’s Baptist Theological Seminary exists to train young people for the work of the ministry in carrying out the Great Commission. From day one I challenge you, students at Liberty to be “world changers.” I say to you, “First change your world, then change the world around you, and then go out to change the world for Jesus Christ.”
Some of you are studying for pastoral ministry; while others of you may be looking to be worship leaders, counselors, or to assume some other positions in the church; the training you will receive here is unlike any other. Still, many others are not sure about God’s calling, but you want to learn the Bible and leadership skills; and this is the place for you.
Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary is the place for those who are visionary; they see the big picture of what God is doing and they want to be a part of it. But it is also a place for Christian activists, those who want to do ministry to make a difference in the world. Some of our graduates pastor the largest churches in the world, while other graduates might be found digging a well with a shovel in Liberia to get clean water for people to whom they are ministering. In one sense both are changing the world, come join them.
Find out where you fit in and let us train you to accomplish great things for Jesus Christ.
We are excited that you have come here to learn from our world-class faculty and staff. We look forward to training and helping you accomplish God’s purpose for your life.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Elmer L. Towns
