Chris Johnson, Liberty University’s Vice President for Enrollment Management, was recently named to Blue Ridge Business Journal’s “20 under 40” list of rising business leaders and stars in Southwest and Central Virginia.
The biweekly magazine selected its list from readers’ nominations. Johnson, 38, was chosen for his contributions to Liberty University’s growth.
“In 2001, the late Jerry Falwell Sr. charged Johnson with the task of dramatically increasing the university’s size, then home to 4,500. ... In 2008, Johnson turned his attention toward online enrollment: In one year it ballooned from 27,000 to 38,000 students, and is expected to hit 50,000 next year.”
Johnson holds a B.S. in Business Management and an M.B.A. from Liberty University. He has served as Director of Recruitment for Liberty University, Executive Vice President for Jerry Falwell Ministries and Executive Director of Resident Recruitment for Liberty University. In November 2008 he was promoted to Vice President of Enrollment Management, managing Liberty University Online enrollment, Resident Enrollment and Financial Aid divisions.
