Liberty University purchased 7 acres from Norfolk Southern in August. The property runs alongside Regents Parkway, the new perimeter road on campus. It starts at Mile Marker 178 and heads south along the railroad about half a mile.

Students who enjoy music and fellowship in a coffeehouse-style setting now have a new hangout spot on Campus North, with the opening of Liberty’s Tilley Student Center. The center is located next to the recently renamed LaHaye Student Union, which encompasses the new student center and campus recreational facilities.

Crews are currently clearing an area of land located behind Campus North in preparation of Liberty’s upcoming tennis center. Once the bulk grading is completed, construction will begin on a new 12-court complex, accommodating the university’s NCAA Division I men’s and women’s tennis teams.

The parking lot below David’s Place (the building that houses Liberty University’s Center for Worship and the Department of Ministry Teams) is getting a long-awaited facelift. Crews have been laying gravel and doing curbing work this week. Paving is set to begin on Aug. 13 and the project is expected to be completed by Aug. 18, the first day of the fall semester.
The main entrance to Liberty University's B.R. Lakin School of Religion is being renovated, with added columns and steps to create a Jeffersonian-style façade similar to the nearby Arthur S. DeMoss Learning Center.
Finishing touches are now being made to a new townhome for resident directors, located off Champion Circle. The two-story building, with two apartments, will provide housing to three RDs, allowing them to be more centrally located to the students they serve. The townhome increases the number of RDs on campus to 26, decreasing the RD-to-student ratio.

A new Student Union area will include a stage, couches, tables, a few televisions and other furnishings for a large but cozy hang-out space. The space will have a similar feel to Thomas Road Baptist Church’s Main Street area.
