Getting To Know You

Kelley Niblett

Kelley NiblettThe newest faculty chair for the elementary division, Kelley Niblett, heeded the call of God to move from the Atlanta, Ga. area to take her new position in April. Prior to coming to Liberty Online Academy, Niblett worked in a variety of fields, primarily in education. Over the years, she has taught third and fifth grades and worked in school administration, including a position as the director of another online academy.

Niblett and her husband Vance met while they were both exchange students learning Mandarin in China. Niblett overpacked and Vance helped her tote her luggage around China. She knew then that he was a keeper! They've now been married for twenty-four years and have two sons. Tyler will be a sophomore at Liberty University in the fall, and Cole will be a sophomore at Liberty Christian academy. Vance also teaches school.

When she is not overseeing the teachers in the elementary division of the academy, Niblett enjoys reading, traveling, and sports. She majored in communications earning a Bachelor of Arts from The Master’s College. She went on to take education courses at Mercer University and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. Her favorite verse is, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declared the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11.

One of Our Own

Nickara Warner
Sixth Grade

Nickara Lynn Warner is currently a sixth grade student at Liberty Online Academy. She is the only daughter of Kris L. and Charissa Warner.

Nickara’s father is one of the five top martial artists in the world affiliated with Ki Shin Do.  Nickara shares his passion for martial arts and holds a fourth-degree black belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do, fourth degree in traditional Hapkido, a fifth level Doshin (Master) in Lotus Ki Shin Do as well as San Shou and Kickboxing. She began her training at three and a half years old, and currently teaches alongside her father, working with students her age and younger. Besides her intense involvement with martial arts, Nickara’s other passion is taking care of her animals.

While working on her courses through the academy, her progress has been exceptional. She is learning, growing, and maturing outside the “traditional box” of public school education. Most significantly, there are moments of spiritual understanding as these experiences relate to the biblical component of her studies at Liberty. She knows that Liberty Online Academy will prepare her for the future both from an academic and spiritual perspective, and she is very grateful for all she has learned so far.

Nickara hopes to graduate from high school at the age of sixteen and then work toward a bachelor’s degree while attending Liberty residentially. After accomplishing that goal, she would like to go into medicine and/or business.
