Story Spotlight

“Every class, professor and classmate has contributed to my rich education in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. Not only have I learned valuable skills in the field, but I have strengthened my walk with Christ. I am a Champion of Christ ready to be God's hands and feet. Liberty University has sparked the fire within me and encouraged me to be a shining light in our troubled world.”

“Coming to Liberty was the best thing that I had ever done! I didn’t think at first that I was computer savvy enough to do online education, but I completed my BSN and soon to be MSN with Liberty Online and the program has been great!”

“I was on active duty when I started my education, and due to my deployments schedule online was the only way I could get my degree. My degree helped me tremendously in getting my present job. I have been blessed to be a part of Liberty and highly recommend Liberty Online to others.”

David Philips

“My experience at Liberty University Online has truly been a remarkable one. The community within Liberty Online made me feel as though I was a part of something that was greater than myself, although I was thousands of miles away. I felt connected and as though I belonged. The encouragement, the challenge, the education from a Christian perspective, the prayers, the diversity of people from different industries and different walks of life was simply astounding. “

“Liberty has enabled me through its online programs to complete both my Bachelor's and Master's degree. As a military wife I have moved overseas and stateside many times but LU has always been one of the constants in my life. It has been such a blessing to work toward my degrees while still being able to home educate our children and play single mom throughout my husband's seven deployments. I am thankful for what LU stands for and am proud to call myself a part of the family."

"I transferred in a life long amount of varied college credits I ended up needing the 30 required credits to graduate from Liberty.  Having attended multiple online universities, I found Liberty to be the easiest to navigate through the admissions process.  The people of Liberty are the most helpful group of folks I have ever dealt with.  This came in handy while trying to get through the admissions and registration process while I was in Turkey. Once I started, I found the professors, for the most part, were very understanding of military requirements and worked with me in order to massage the schedule around world events requiring my attention.  Since my first class. I have referred four other undergraduate, one masters student and my daughter to the academy.  I love Liberty and maybe one day I can visit my alma mater when I drop my daughter off for her first year of college.”

"Hello my name is Sonia and I am grateful to be apart of the Liberty University family. / I fell in love with Liberty when I came to visit my son for a weekend. I loved how the teacher's approached the students and I especially loved how Liberty made you feel like you were part of the family. Although I am taking online classes I still feel apart of the family because of how the teacher's treated me. I have been studying to be a Special needs teacher and when I started studying at Liberty God has opened my heart even more for the children. I believe that everyone is placed on this earth for a reason, God has plans for each of us and when we place ourselves in his hands he will use us to help others.  I enjoy working with children and I learned that even though they may have a disability there is still purpose for them. I want God to use me to make a difference in their lives. Liberty has taught me that you are not forced to serve God but with their actions they have showed me that we are nothing without God. Thanks Liberty for loving me the same way Christ loves me."

"Being a active duty Sailor, a wife, a mother of 3, and a full time student, I was faced with several challenges. Liberty really helped me with my Christian walk and how to be an effective role model to all the teen girls that are watching me. The staff at Liberty was more than helpful and blessed me by working with me with helping make my dream of graduating come true. I will forever cherish my years spent at LUO."

"My online experience was more than I ever dreamed possible. As an older student I remember being anxious and concerned about reentering school. To my surprise I found myself engaged in a fantastic curriculum supported by amazing professors and consistently challenged to offer God my best every step of the way. The challenges I experienced were not only academically but spiritually and personally. Through encountering the material in my very first class the Lord dealt directly with me on some personal health issues that was a long-term battle. I subsequently went on to lose over 100lbs but more than that I lost years of unhealthy behavioral patterns in an effort to represent the Lord to the best of my ability.  As I near completion of my course of study I know that I have been well prepared for my future role in the mental health field. I recommend this program to anyone looking for high quality education with true biblical integration."

"I received my BA in Social and Criminal Justice from Ashford University in 2012.  I took about a year and a half off after that trying to decide what I wanted do/where I wanted to go when I pursued my graduate degree.  After a lot of searching I stumbled onto Liberty University.  What originally drew me to Liberty was the fact they were so military friendly; capped their grad school tuition so that military tuition assistance covered it and it was a respectable brick and mortar school.  As I progressed through my course of study I found myself becoming more and more drawn back to my faith and it reigniting a fire in me that I had not had in a long time.  I look forward to proudly calling myself a Liberty alumnus and using that fire to become a true Champion for Christ.”

"Attending Liberty University as a professional in my 40's has increased my faith in God. I really did not believe that I could be successful as a student because I struggled as an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  Liberty helped me to connect with God and with others who had similar beliefs.  Because of Liberty I have completed 2 Masters degrees in 4 years and I am now enrolled in the PHD Program. Thanks to Liberty I have gained confidence in God and his abilities to use me regardless of my age.  Thank you."

"I came to Liberty hoping to receive an effective education while serving in my local church. Liberty University provided a terrific option for me to get specific training online in areas that my church lacked resources. On the other hand Liberty was flexible in allowing me to work with my church and denomination to get the training I needed there. I was very pleased with my experience and I am grateful that a place like Liberty exists to meet the needs of such a wide array of students."
