Liberty University’s Minor in Parenting and Child/Adolescent Development is designed to introduce you to the foundational and developmental perspectives on child and family life. The physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual development of children and adolescents is ever changing. The principles you gain throughout our courses will provide you with the essential framework necessary for helping parents create and sustain a healthy and balanced family life.
Liberty University is proud to partner with a world-renowned psychologist, author, radio show host, and family expert Dr. James C. Dobson to offer our Minor in Parenting and Child/Adolescent Development through the Dr. James C. Dobson Center. The goal of the center is to equip men and women with the knowledge to positively impact the family, and society, for Christ.
Our Minor in Parenting and Child/Adolescent Development is offered completely online, allowing you to remain active in your job, with your family, and in your community without the worry of having to take courses on a campus.
Liberty’s Minor in Parenting and Child/Adolescent Development will discuss contemporary issues that threaten healthy families in today’s society. Our online courses will unpack the difficulties that many families endure and teach you how to become a voice for families in need. Our psychology professors are excited to train you on how to handle challenging situations such as child discipline strategies, trauma and abuse, and healthy sexuality from a biblical perspective. You will discuss these topics in a safe environment as you interact with your professor and others in the class with a common goal of helping families in need.
