Online Student Beth Swann Balances Both Education and Work

February 12, 2014  |

Beth Swann, a group director for Global Expeditions, was drawn to Liberty University for its affordable prices and Christian principles. Unable to leave her home and full-time job in Dallas, Texas, she decided to pursue a degree in religion through Liberty’s online program.

“Liberty has a lot to offer,” Swann said. “Their online classes allow me to work full time, and that’s why it’s so great.”

Swann said one of her favorite things about taking online courses is that even though she isn’t in a classroom setting, her professors still make an effort to get to know her and her classmates.

“My professors have been great! They are so good at follow-up communication and are very understanding.”

Because her sister is now a residential student at Liberty, Swann has been able to experience campus and interact with students and faculty when she comes to visit.

Swann said a degree in religion will give her the biblical foundation she is looking for as she works with Global Expeditions and seeks to get involved with church missions or women’s ministries in the future.

Swann will graduate this spring and plans to continue her education with Liberty by earning a master’s degree.
