Liberty University Online Celebrates 1,000th Hancock Welcome Center Visitor
November 08, 2013 |
Recently, a group of almost 200 Liberty University Online advisors and other staff members celebrated the 1,000th online student to visit the Hancock Welcome Center.
Online students are encouraged to visit campus and stop by the Hancock Welcome Center where they can meet with an advisor face-to-face.
“Since the Hancock Welcome Center opened, we have assisted over 1,000 online students who have come to campus,” said Tamela Crickenberger, executive director of Enrollment. “We have three main advisors at the Hancock Welcome Center, but many more members of the advising team have been a part of reaching this milestone.”
Katherine Solivan, a Liberty University Online advisor stationed at the Hancock Welcome Center, recalled one of her favorite memories — working with an online student who returned several times to the center for one-on-one meetings.
“We worked through various hurdles,” said Solivan. “Through much prayer and encouragement, she got back on track. During her most recent visit, I walked her through submitting her graduation application and she is now prepared to graduate.”
Students can visit the Hancock Welcome Center Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday noon-6 p.m.
“We would love to show off the campus and meet our students in person,” said Crickenberger.
