Secondary school teachers have the privilege and responsibility of training up the future leaders of our nation. If you have dreamed of becoming a secondary school teacher and are ready to work toward your teaching license, Liberty’s online Master of Arts in Teaching – Secondary Education can give you the training you need.

In as little as one and a half years, you can earn your M.A.T. in Secondary Education as well as teacher licensure. Whether you have a background in education or are looking to move into a rewarding new career in teaching, Liberty University’s online Master of Arts in Teaching will provide a path for you to advance your teaching skills, put your professional expertise to work in the classroom, and seek credentials for licensure. And if you choose to pursue a dual endorsement by taking just a few extra classes, you can graduate with licensure in secondary education as well as in another endorsement area such as middle grades, elementary, or special education.

At Liberty University, we believe in our students. That’s why we work hard to develop reasonably priced and academically rigorous programs that produce educators and school leaders who model high academic, moral, and spiritual standards before their peers. We also believe that earning your degree should be affordable, which is why our 100% online M.A.T. degrees are now specially priced at just $415 per credit hour for full-time students.

As in every graduate program offered by Liberty University’s School of Education, you’ll be taught by professors who teach from a biblical worldview and who strive to encourage their students. With the M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Liberty University, you can influence the development of your students’ educational, spiritual, and social needs — changing the world one adolescent at a time.

Upon successful completion of Liberty University’s Virginia state-approved Master of Arts in Teaching program, you may apply for your teaching license in another state through reciprocity, which may or may not result in additional requirements based on your state’s Department of Education regulations. You can research your state’s licensure requirements here: https://www.liberty.edu/statelicensure/MTSC-MAT-D/.
